Driving a few miles outside of Chestertown, Maryland last March, I noticed a large nest on the roof of an abandoned farm house. The mud crusted my tires as I drove up the lane for a better look , attracting the attention of a vigilant farmer. A few weeks later, spring arrived, bringing two osprey back to rebuild their nest. For about six months of the year, the Eastern Shore hosts one of the highest populated areas of nesting osprey in the world.
